Dog in a Manger

about

lyrics

How long must we play dog in a manger,
In this future dystopian fantasy,
Where robots cook and make my bed,
Feed the children soft boiled eggs.
Outside my window is a sight to behold,
It's miles of circuitry bound in gold,
But my heart is low, and I'm feeling thin,
So I take out my cord and plug it in.
My girlfriend knows every piece of me,
I got a hard drive for her to read,
And a chip in my heart that will tell me when,
To extend my arms and hug my friends.

My eyes flicker open and I stretch my legs,
And I stand up, I stand in an upright posture,
My heart beats and with my head back looking at the sky,
I open my eyes, and I open my eyes,
My arms are like antlers, branching from me,
Make me reach out, make me reach out,
With every ounce of strength in this new body,
I, well I, well I, sit....

I watch as my robot fixes my meal,
She squeezes the juice and dumps the peel,
And I will report all that I see,
In my future dystopian fantasy.
